During 2001 it became apparent that Dave Fleet had done as much
as he could, virtually covering the whole body but there was no way
I could stop having tattoos and I was keen on the work that I had
seen done by Paul O’Connor from Weymouth and knowing him well I
asked him to do some work on my neck in 2001. He did a fantastic
tattoo of strawberries on the left side of my neck and later on the
right side he tattooed a lovely bunch of grapes.
Over the next few years Paul has continued to tattoo me, doing work
on my hands, forehead, and neck. In 2006 I
decided that I would get the whole of my scalp completely covered.
The most difficult aspect about this was that I
had to have the whole my head completely shaved but once done I
really liked it and I have kept it shaved since
then. When Paul set about tattooing the head I left the choice of
subject to him but when I found that he was tattooing
penises all over the back of the head I couldn’t believe it at first
but I must admit I loved the work and asked
him to continued with this theme over the whole head. I expect to
get more work by Paul in the future.
At the end of 2003, whilst at a convention in Lausanne, Switzerland
I met the artist Filip Leu and his mother, Loretta.
I was taken back
by Loretta’s prominent tattoo on her forehead which Fillip had done
and I knew then that I too must tell the world that I am tattooed
and get a tattoo on my forehead. Seeing my interest Filip offered to
do one for me in the centre of my forehead to a design of his choice
Next day when he had agreed to do it, I suggested it should be quite
small and he got to work. He had his own idea of what he was going
to do and he did a triangular design in the centre of the forehead.
It was much larger than I had anticipated and there was no way I
could now hide the fact that I had some facial tattoos but I didn’t
care and I loved it.
I knew that Filip was recognised as one of the best tattooists in
the world and during one subsequent discussion I said that I was
keen to get a choker tattoo on my neck. He immediately said he would
like to do it and it was agreed that the following month I would
return to Lausanne. I went to his studio and over a period of three
hours
he produced a superb design on me. It is a tattoo that will always
be treasured by me.
